On April 24th (5:00 – 11:00 p.m.), the "Long Night of Research" took place in Upper Austria. The NEFI partner Energiesparverband and STIWA invited visitors to Hagenberg, where they could playfully test the Energy.Factory, a programme targeting students (13 and 14 years).
"Energy transition as a career: How do I make the best, most efficient, and most sustainable chocolate?" was the motto of the station in the Hagenberg Software Park.
The Energy.Factory visualises the processes of a chocolate factory and captivated the young audience! Visitors playfully tested parameters and observed the effects on chocolate quality, energy consumption, and CO₂ emissions.
140 children actively participated and explored the industrial energy transition. As a reward, they received Energy.Factory chocolates and the chance to win four pairs of "Golden Tickets" - entry vouchers to the Ars Electronica Center.
The Energy Factory was developed by NEFI partner Energiesparverband as part of the NEFI Lab and is now being implemented playfully with schools on an ongoing basis.
