NEFI Technology Talk: ElWG – Updates for Manufacturing Companies

The new Electricity Industry and Organisation Act (ElWG) introduces numerous changes for customers and electricity producers. With far-reaching updates, it establishes a modern framework for an electricity market shaped by renewable energy, digitalisation, and decentralised generation. Flexibility incentives—such as dynamic electricity pricing and grid access, system-supportive storage solutions, bidirectional charging, and the opening of markets for flexibility services—are intended to enhance overall system efficiency. Under the ElWG, companies can assume the role of “active customers”.

The event will focus on the specific implications of these changes for manufacturing companies and on how businesses can make use of new opportunities in flexibility provision, storage, and energy exchange to reduce costs and strengthen security of supply.
